Leonardo is a highly talented and versatile Saxophonist from Fuengirola, on Spain's Costa del Sol. Born in the province of Piacenza Italy, Leonardo grew up in Caserta and studied in the cities of Avellino, Siena, Bologna and Matera. He is Classical, jazz, and contemporary trained and studied with Paolo Fresu, Gianluigi Trovesi, Pietro Tonolo, Steve Coleman, Ettore Fioravanti, Bruno Tomaso, Peter Condorelli and Furio Di Castri with whom he learned saxophone, flute, clarinet, composition, arranging and improvisation. Since 2002 Leonardo has lived in the province of Malaga (Spain), where he recently published the album "The Emotional Touch" and collaborates with the saxophonist Javier Denis in the "Jazz Connection". Leonardo also performs with many bands and of course, as a solo sax player, throughout the region.

Formación

Nacido en los años 70 en la provincia de Piacenza, creció en Caserta y se educó en la ciudad de Avellino, Siena, Bolonia y Matera. De formación clásica, contemporánea y sobre todo jazz, estudió con Paolo Fresu, Trovesi Gianluigi, Tonolo Pietro, Steve Coleman, Fioravanti Ettore, Bruno Tomaso, Condorelli Pedro y Furio Di Castri con quien aprendió los 4 saxofónes, flauta, clarinete, composición, arreglo y la improvisación.
Desde 2002 vive en la provincia de Málaga (España), donde publicó el álbum “The Emotional Touch” y colabora con el saxofonista Javier Denis en el proyecto "Jazz Connection".

Proyectos culturales

“The Brecker Project” es un proyecto basado en una revisión personal de los temas eclécticos y funky de los Brecker Brothers. Demo: www.myspace.com/thebreckerproject

“The Emotional Touch” es un proyecto lanzado en CD en 2011 basado en 10 composiciones originales y realizadas en un cuarteto con piano, bajo, batería y alternando los 4 saxos y clarinete bajos. El proyecto es un cruce de estilos de jazz, desde el hard bop, al free jazz, desde el cool hasta la bossa nova. El CD ha sido muy bien recibido por los críticos (5 * segun la revista All About Jazz).
