The Sierra Nevada is a popular and splendid Ski resort, located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, less than 2 hours from the Costa del Sol.

While the Coast can be still basking in sunshine and mild conditions, the Sierra Nevada, one of southern Spain's highest points, is nearly always deep in snow. Depending on the snow levels, the season generally runs from the end of November or the beginning of December until sometime in April.

Although this Ski resort is somewhat smaller than the major resorts in Europe, it is equiped to very high standards and is a must visit for winter sports lovers. The Sierra Nevada is a top class ski resort and the most southerly and highest ski station in Spain, with more than 75 pistes, some at over 2,500 metres, where it is usually possible to ski from mid November through to late April.
